Changeling VR

ChangelingVR is a virtual reality first-person interactive mystery, where you play as Detective Aurelia Walker, a private eye gifted with the unique ability to dream-walk, allowing her to see the thoughts and memories of anyone she touches. Progress through a series of interconnected levels featuring unique mechanics as well as distinct themes and visual designs. Discover the rich narrative of Changeling VR through different VR interactions, complex characters, and immersive world exploration. Explore a breathtaking world featuring deep environmental interactions, puzzle-solving, and discoveries waiting to be found.

This game was the main focus of my entrepreneurial coop, where I was responsible for working on fixes and tweaks within the Mother level, as well as some initial level and gameplay design and implementations within the Toddler level. I was also required to make constant, iterative changes to the levels based on biweekly feedback from play testers that we analyzed. Finally, I had to interact across multiple departments, not just my team for our specific level, which includes teams such as tech art, art, narrative design, sound design, and more.

This internship allowed me to heavily test the skills I have learned through my education, such as version control, gameplay design and implementation, and level design based on existing narrative concepts. I was also able to adapt to new technologies such as Perforce, Unreal Engine, and VR development, as it was my first time using those technologies. I am incredibly proud of my contributions to this game as it is a beautiful project in terms of narrative, gameplay, and design! Overall, I learned a lot from this experience in terms of game development in a professional setting while interacting with many teams and departments of talented individuals.
